Matthew 5:38-48
This week we continue to discuss how Jesus fulfills the Law and the prophets. Jesus shows us that the Kingdom of God will be different. The laws of the Kingdom will be different. The King will be different. And as a result the people of the Kingdom are called to be different as well.
Matthew 5:31-37
Words and deeds matter. We don't just hear God's Word, we are to be do-ers of the Word, as well. Our words matter, too. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus tells us not to swear oaths. Why? What's the big deal with oaths? Well, words matter. And the words we speak point to a greater reality than we realize. So choose your words carefully.
Matthew 5:13-20
Who can't help but look at the world around us and groan at all that is so wrong. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus offers a similar assessment and offers a solution that hinders the decay and repels the darkness. We may need to rethink our groaning.
Matthew 4:12 - 5:12
The Good Life. That's what everyone wants, right? What does it look like and how do we get it? In the beatitudes, Jesus offers a powerful picture of what it looks like. The good news of this good life is that it isn't up to us to 'get it'.
Matthew 5-7
We are a people following in the Jesus Way, learning to live lives that reflect the in-breaking Kingdom of heaven here on earth. Matthew 5-7 is the best sermon ever preached, by the best Preacher who ever lived, telling us about the Kingdom way of life.
Matthew 28:1-10
"You seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, just as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples." The story of the resurrection of Jesus is powerful. Four key verbs invite us into the action so we, too, might experience the power.
Matthew 21:1-11
In recording the triumphal entry, Matthew wants us to know that Jesus entered Jerusalem as a humble king. A humble king? Where did Jesus learn to be humble? When we realize where, it will change our perspective on so much.
Matthew 28:17-20
As People of the Way we are 'Sent Ones,' sent by Jesus to make disciples who love God, love others and make disciples. That sounds like a huge responsibility! But this Great Commission is rooted a Great Claim Jesus makes, followed by a Great Promise. He makes disciple making possible.

The Holy Spirit gives each and every follower of Jesus at least one spiritual gift so that all can contribute to the building up of the body. As we discover our Trinity Way of Life, let's earnestly desire both the gifts and the Giver.

As followers of Jesus, we get to love God, love others and make disciples. And the good news is that He doesn't expect us to figure out on our own how to make disciples. He equips us! Ephesians 4 shows us some of that equipping and where this equipping will lead us. It is glorious!

What does a transformed life of a disciple of Jesus look like? In Ephesians 5:1-14, Paul offers a stark contrast of life before and after Jesus shines His light on us. The good news is that we can now walk in the light of the Jesus Way.
Colossians 3:12-17
The life of the Christ follower ought to reflect Christ's character, be ruled by Christ's peace, and be indwelt by Christ's word. God brings such transformation through renewed worship that restores and restor(i)es our focus.
Acts 2:42-47
Luke gives us a glimpse of a healthy and fruitful church in chapter 2 of Acts. As Christ-followers, they loved God, loved others and made disciples; Christianity's Irreducible Core. God changed the hearts and lives of these, "followers of the way". We will investigate their activities and ask God to help us to begin to develop a "Trinity Way" of living out the Christian life.
John 15:1-11
When life gets busy, do you feel more or less connected to others? Funny how so much "doing" leads us away from what really matters. We hear from Jesus what a fruit-bearing life looks like and it can't be measured by a 'to-do' list.
Matthew 9:14-17
As the new wine that Jesus is expands our wineskin, are we ready for His expanding work? How does our perception of the church limit what He wants to do? What does a fullness of his filling look like in a Trinity Way of Life?
Exodus 34:5-7
Moses asks to see God's glory and what he sees and hears leads him to worship. As we begin our discussion about what it means to be the church, we need to begin with an understanding of God so we rightly reflect His glory.
John 1:35-51
When Jesus calls His disciples, He invites them to 'Come and see,' and they see a way of life rooted in revelation and transformation. Do people see in us a shared understanding of the Jesus way? Do people see in us a Trinity way of life?
Ephesians 2:1-10
The second chapter of Ephesians shows us the "bad news" of death caused by sin, the "good news" of new life in Christ, and encourages us to embrace the good works God has prepared for us to do. What are those good works? The answer is not as complicated as we might think.
